About us

Critical Fit is a platform developed by Critical Software which aims to raise money for charitable institutions by pledging a donation when our athletes achieve a monthly workout time goal.

Frequently asked questions

1. How does Critical Fit work?

Every month we set a target number of workout hours. As you exercise, you contribute to the monthly goal. If we reach the target, Critical Software and Critical TechWorks will donate money to charity.

2. Do I need a Strava account?

We use Strava as a mediator to register and keep track of your workout hours, so you will need an account to log your hours.

3. Why does Critical Fit needs access to my Strava profile and activity data?

So that your Strava workout hours may contribute to the monthly goal and that you may appear as one of the athletes on Critical Fit.

4. What information does Critical Fit collect from my Strava account?

Critical Fit is able to access data about your public profile in Strava such as your name, profile photo and gender. It also collects information about your public activities (information you have shared with everyone or followers) in order to access the time spent and count it towards the monthly goal.

5. How do I make sure my workout time contributes towards the Critical Fit goal?

  • First of all, make sure that you have authorised Critical Fit to access your public profile.

  • Share public activities (those you’ve shared with everyone or followers).

  • By choosing to only share your activities with your followers, you can maintain your privacy while also sharing your workout hours with us.

  • Critical Fit is only authorised to receive data about public activities.

  • Activities created with private access won't be considered as part of your total individual workout hours, nor towards the total number of hours to be reached by Critical Fit community in our monthly goal.

6. Why do my workout hours on Critical Fit remain zero, even when I have registered public activities?

Keep in mind that Critical Fit only considers the total number of workout hours in the current month.

If you haven't completed at least one workout hour in the current month, then your total number of hours will be shown as zero until all your activities reach at least 60 minutes in total. However, your workout time will still count towards the monthly goal.

7. How do I revoke Critical Fit access to my Strava account?

You may revoke access on the Strava Apps page by clicking 'Revoke Access' next to the Critical Fit option.

8. What happens to my data when I revoke access to Critical Fit?

Your profile data will be permanently deleted and your activities will be anonymised, which means they will no longer be connected to your profile.

9. Why does my name show as "Strava Athlete" on Critical Fit?

It may be because you haven't entered your name into Strava. If that's the case, go to your Strava account you will be prompted for it once you have linked your account to Critical Fit. If that doesn't happen, check your profile settings, change your name there and Critical Fit will update your name in no time.
